Crazy Tube Circuits Venus

The Crazy Tube Circuits Venus is a real tube overdrive pedal inspired by one of the greatest masterpieces in pedal history (the B.K. Butler Tube Driver). With modern refinements and a compact enclosure, Venus delivers everything from smooth, light tube overdrive to high-gain, nasty distortion verging on fuzz territory.

The pedal features an ECC832 tube, a unique hybrid combining half of an ECC83 (12AX7) and half of an ECC82 (12AU7), delivering the classic tube driver tone with improved clarity, string separation, and a wider soundstage. The tube is socketed, allowing substitution with various dual triode tubes (ECC83/12AX7, 5751, ECC81/12AT7, 12AY7, ECC82/12AU7) for different sonic flavors.

A bias knob adjusts the tube bias and controls the current passing through the tube cathodes, allowing fine-tuning for different tube types and setting the texture of the overdrive/distortion from gnarly and gated to smooth and creamy. The full 3-band EQ provides total control over frequency response, and a push switch sets the amount of low and low-mid frequencies boosting the tube gain stages. Additionally, a switchable low-output-impedance line driver ensures proper signal integrity through long cable runs
