The Explorer is an optical, photocell based analog phaser, featuring six swept stages. The unique control set provides an incredible range of ornate phasing with several selectable waveshapes, dedicated mix and volume controls, and CV capable expression input. We are excited to revisit this classic Spaceman circuit, now available in a smaller pedalboard friendly enclosure, with all of the deluxe features of the original. Sometimes liquidy smooth, sometimes chewy and lush, the fluid frequencies squiggle and flourish like the unrelenting ebb and flow of the sonic tide.

Hand-wired and built in Portland, Oregon, the Explorer features true-bypass relay switching with a soft-touch footswitch. On top of the cast-aluminum enclosure sits a durable, engraved vinyl faceplate and jewel indicator light. This pedal is built to last a lifetime, both on Earth or in the vacuum of space.

The Many Worlds is an eight-stage phaser with eight selectable phase control parameters, six LFOs and two envelope-dependent phase shift modes. The Many Worlds features a robust LFO engine with classics like sine and square sharing the same control with reverse sawtooth and two independently controlled and intermodulating sine waves. Lastly, Catalinbread have added envelope-dependent phase shift‚Äìboth up and down‚Äìletting you control the phase shift with your pick attack, rather than driving it with an LFO. This gives you an autowah-esque manually controlled phase shifting experience. The idea for Many Worlds began when Catalinbread were experimenting with different LFO shapes for a phaser project‚Äìinitially starting with the core of the classic orange box” phaser but with a number of extra features. This LFO framework eventually led to experiments involving the modulation of one LFO by another. This is where the name Many Worlds comes from‚Äîthe “Many Worlds” interpretation of quantum mechanics is a theory by Hugh Everette which states that quantum wave function collapse is actually the superposition of quantum states built by the decoherence of independent wave functions. This leads to the theory of parallel universes where quantum measurements have opposite results.”

The Arigato is an OTA based (Operational-Transconductance-Amplifier) analog phaser but with a couple twists – the mode switch changes the capacitors and filter notches to more closely resemble a classic vibe pedal, giving the sweep a bit of an off-balance feel. The bypass on Arigato can also be a momentary bypass for instant phasing “hits” and releases. And the square wave, like the Somersault’s, can push the phasing into audible pumps and overload things. The guys at Caroline could have tamed it for noise purposes, but they didn’t want to lose the fun!
The Arigato is built on a similar framework as the Somersault: an analog LFO that can do some wild stuff and push things beyond their boundaries, a mix control that can go 100% wet, and a havoc control that is all gas, no brakes.
While capable of the airy psychedelia of classic units, the Arigato is meant to rumble, wobble, shake, rattle, and roar. It is also capable of going fully wet for interesting vibrato sounds and max out feedback for auto-wah style filter sweeps.
