Alexander Pedals are designed by Matthew Farrow and a group of trusted players, builders, and friends. Matthew has been building guitar pedals since the late 1990s, first with Pharaoh Amplifiers, and now with Disaster Area Designs. Matthew has designed some of the most innovative effects units on the market, including some big names he's not allowed to tell you about. Alexander Pedals was started for two reasons - to make great tones, and to do good. The great tones part you probably have some idea about. As for doing good, Alexander Pedals donates a portion of the profits from every pedal sold to charity, whether you buy from us or our dealers. Matthew's younger brother Alex passed away in 1987 of a form of cancer called neuroblastoma. Alexander Pedals honors his memory by helping in the fight to end childhood cancer.

It started with - you guessed it! - guitar amps...Christopher Benson's story of how he developed the Monarch, his first amp design, is a fascinating story of the pursuit of tone! Luckily for us all, he decided at some point to look into pedals, as well! While there is a limited lineup in the Benson pedal range, this is more than made up for in quality of tone. Each pedal that is put into your chain will tantilize your ears, whether it be the preamp that is the latest spawn of his original design, the revolutionary germanium fuzz, or its cousin, the germanium boost. Starting out as a guitar design company, Philippe Herndon turned his attention to making original circuit pedals to see what happens. What happened was a plethora of fantastic sounding stompboxes with truly original sounds. While paying homage to, and being inspired by, the developers that got us to where we are, Caroline prefers to create new sounds, new choices for musicians and bring features you might not expect. We love the sweet seductive lo-fi responses and unique voicing options they pump out and the industry seems to agree. Earthquaker Devices was first made famous by the Black Keys. Guitarist Dan Auerbach really liked the fuzz sound coming from the Hoof, and this pedal quickly became the flagship of the Ohio based company. After a few years, production moved from the basement in founder Jamie Stillman's house to a two-storey hall, and the product line has expanded into dozens of amazing pedals - from fuzz, overdrive and distrortion, to modulation boxes and delays, to endless spacy reverb designs. Their pedals are indestructible and adorn the pedalboards of bands like Queens of the Stone Age and The Strokes.

Robert Keeley was one of the originators of the "mod" movement, quickly becoming famous for his modified classics such as the TubeScreamer, Boss DS-1, Metal Zone, Ibanez AD-9 and others. Since then he has built a worldwide reputation for such highly sought after originals, they are starting to be cloned, as well! Keeley, definitely one of the more amiable personalities in the business, has built his name by combining his love for music and engineering. Modern classics such as his Compressor and Katana Boost are on many a board, while other "workstation" type pedals provide every possible tweak you could want in a pedal.

Each new release pushes the envelope and leaves you pining for the next one. Reminds us so much of Soundgarden, but at least one of us is a huge fan :).
